Working Outside of the Home Parents vs Working at Home Parents |

I have some questions...and I didn't know how to post my title. This is NOT a comparison, one versus the others...
For those families that have two parent homes...how is the work load split up? How do you define who has what jobs? Who has what responsibilities?

Deb, I've always ended up doing "more" no matter what the situation has been. You would think that the stay at home partner would do more, but
that just isn't true. The person with the character or personality to do more, will do more, whether they are the stay at home party or not, imho. If it is
not in a person's character to naturally see what needs done and do it, and they are the stay at home party, then they might need a specific list to
follow, so that both sides can agree enough is being done by them.
Studies show CLEARLY that the female does more work at home, whether she is a sahm, wahm or wm. I believe she does around 20 hours more per week than her male counterpart in male/female relationships. I love Po Bronson's work on the topic. Here is one of his research pages. http://www.pobronson.com/factbook/pages/278.html http://www.pobronson.com/factbook/

Yep, gotta agree with Sham on this one. My family will walk around stuff all day long and never see that it needs to be ummmm PICKED UP. Half the time, if I
don't tell people ....err ask people....to do something specific to help out, I do it all myself.

It is SO frustrating to me! Especially with everything we've been through in this last month.
If the children's jobs are the school studies (and I think it is)... And there is a parent that works outside of the home ... obviously that is their job... Then the parent that stays at home...that should be their job. I shouldn't have to be the one to follow up on EVERYTHING! Did you make your bed? Yes, then let me go check it. Oh, you really didn't do it, let's redo it....Did you pick up your laundry? Yes. Oh, let me go see....Don't take them on their words.... When you cook scrambled eggs, wash the skillet immediately afterwards. Before you even eat. It's not that hard. Or it gets caked on... Jim said to me yesterday, "This is the third time I've washed dishes today." No kidding. I did it all this weekend. Are you serious? How hard is it to fold clothes when they come out of the dryer? Don't put them somewhere, and say I'll do it later. Because you won't. You'll wait until there's several baskets of dry laundry. Ugh. Sorry for the rant.

And not only will there be several buckets but they will all be wrinkled as hell and need to be either ironed or run through the dryer again!
I feel your pain, my friend!!

Yep, especially after what you just went through... I feel for you. You'd think it'd be an absolute priority at this point.

Yesterday, on my way to women's group, was talking to Jim and he was telling me how bored he was during the day....only had so much to do....la la la la.
I got home yesterday at about 6 -- after women's group. Got home and there were dishes from lunch. Because I asked who/when cooked eggs. Ugh! Then...I had to change the laundry around that I started at 5 in the morning! I was livid and I stomped into the bedroom to asked if he had done laundry and he asked "Why would I do that?" BECAUSE ITS THERE TO DO YOU RETARD! I then picked up Trooper's dirty clothes. Washed the dishes, did the laundry and went to bed. Haven't spoken to him since except to tell him to kiss my butt this morning because he asked me why laundry was on the chair in the living room.... Which was because...I went into the laundry room...saw dry, clean clothes in the sink...asked who did it..Britt did...told her to move them...she moved them to the chair...then I had to tell her that she actually had to FOLD THEM AND PUT THEM AWAY!
