Hello All,
I am new to this forum. I was hoping to get some support for what's going on. I am definitely pregnant but I don't know HOW pregnant I am.
I got off my Mirena IUC July 28th. Then I had a period the next day. On August 12th then I bled again. Then I bled again on Sept 5th. You would figure then that my last period was Sept 5th and at this point I would be 5 weeks prego. Well, I thought I might be pregnant back in August so I went my Gyn and took a blood test (urine said neg) and the blood came up neg. This was right around the first of Sept. a couple of days. So I figure ok I'm not pregnant here's confirmation I'm bleeding again on the 5th. (which happens to be 23 days after the 12th of August)
Well my Gyn is not necessarily the same Dr.s I want to deliver with so when I got a confirmed pee stick I went to my regular family practitioner. He sent me in to get a blood work that was last friday the 9th. Well the HCG count came in and the NP called and said congratulations your 7-8 weeks pregnant.
Of course that didn't seem possible but I was in a meeting so I didn't have time to really talk. I tried calling back but my "doctor" has been unavailable. I did find out that my HCG counts were 150000-200000 range That's all she said. Anyway, I still haven't decided what doc./midwife I want to use so I haven't gone in to see anyone yet. My family doctor has to make a referral anyway.
So anyway, I am however far along I am but this is my second child. I am definitely already showing but I can fit in to all my low rise pants still. My cousin has Twins and my grandma lost a set of twins ages past. So I do have a family history of twins.
My immediate questioning is if I'm only 5 weeks along, showing and have that high of counts I must have twins. If I'm really 9 weeks along at this point then I guess I could be normal. I am obsessing over this of course because I can't reach my family doctor and I haven't picked my OB/midwife yet.
I would love if you could let me know what you think.
Thanks
G

I'm not sure about how far along you are. Unfortunately your best bet is going to be an exam by your doctor
and possibly an ultrasound. Although a blood test is pretty accurate so if they are saying 7 -8 weeks, that is most likely the case.
