Posts: 1269 10/24/08 17:33:05	Tags : None Ok... So, I was wondering if anyone has ever been a surrogate mother or know's someone who has?? My sister and her husband cannot conceive. I have told her that I would do it for her! Our plan was that once I was done having mine then I would have hers (well that's her plan it doesn't matter to me when it happens I think it's wonderful.) Well Gary and I have decided that we are done for sure after this one. So, I was just wondering if anyone has any type of advice about this. I am a little nervous as to getting prego right away after I have this baby, but we plan to try and start as soon as my doctors give me the go ahead that my body is ok to handle another one. Just wanted some feed back on the whole process I don't know to much about it. So anything will help! Thanks!!

Posts: 1271 10/24/08 17:39:40	Niki, I've not been a surrogate mother, but I'm registered as one. Just hoping I can get matched before I'm too old. lol. I think my first questions would be: 1) are you going to be a traditional surrogate where your egg is used? or 2) a gestational surrogate where you are using someone else's (your sister's, I assume) egg? I know that there was one woman in particular that I'm thinking of that was a surrogate but I haven't seen her around in a while... hmmm....wonder what anyone else says....

Posts: 1269 10/24/08 19:17:24	Deb Thanks! The reason they cannot conceive is simply because my sister cannot carrie to term the doc says her body just wont allow it. So, we will be using all their stuff just my oven. :)

Posts: 1269 10/27/08 22:42:57	Thanks all of you!! It won't be for awhile but it will happen! I still have to have my baby and then when the doc ok's it we are gonna try ASAP! My sis is 30 yrs. old and her my BIL are going to be great parents!! They're great with both of my kids! They will actually if anything is to ever happen to me and Gary they will have soul custody of my kids! And vise versa!! I can't wait!! It's so exciting!! I will defintly let all of you know when it's going to happen as far as my doc said she thinks if my body is up for it she's bet about 2 months after I give birth! THen depending on well everything goes with it if I only end up having one we will do it again. They want 2 kids and I'm more than willing to oblige!! Some think I'm nuts but I'm only 25 and my sis ain't getting any younger! We thought it'd be better to do it sooner rather than later! I just wanted to thanks for everyone's support!! I will be sure to let you all know how everything goes! You'll be with me the whole way!! :)

She also said that after I have the baby and the labor isn't to rough on my body then I should be prego (for my sis) by July!! I'm due May 25th so hopefully that is enough time!! It was a really soon date that she told me! I'm alittle nervous but I'm ready!!! Just wanted to share our good news with you all!! Wish me luck!! Niki.... Mama to Indica and Malekai!!!!

And, from my personal point of view, I think, in this case, the surrogate mom sounds like a more interesting person, and someone you would want to know, than the mom/author. I have consulted with my doc and she has told me that she doesn't think I should carry another child whether it be mine or someone else's.....Let me explain....I hurt my back in Jan. they think I will have to have surgery on it once I have the baby! My back right now is killing me I have days that I get a catch in it and can't get up....My doc thinks it would be for the best if I had my tubes tied....I'm so depressed with the situation at hand that I just don't know what to do! I was very much looking forward to doing this for my sister! I myself didn't plan on having any more children but now my sister might not either! Anyways I said i would keep you posted...i just wanted to make sure I did that! Hopefully something will change or they may find another surrogate if she wants to do it that way!
